Joel E. Barthelemy, Managing Director
As the Founder and Managing Director of GlobalMed Group, LLC, Joel E. Barthelemy is dedicated to improving the quality of worldwide health care by developing innovative tools and technology that set the standard for excellence in medical image automation and patient workflow telemedicine. He has over 20 years of experience in the high-tech industry with more than 10 years specifically in visual communications, imaging and telemedicine.
During a national educational software development company internship, Mr. Barthelemy seized on an opportunity to start his first of many high tech companies in education, semi-conductor and real estate holdings. In early 2000, Mr. Barthelemy founded a management and investment company, WIYN, LLC. His most recent endeavor, GlobalMed Group, LLC, was formed in 2002, which continues to design, develop and deliver proven solutions to highly respected institutions including Stanford, Mayo Clinic, Veterans Affairs, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Barrow Neurological Institute, HCA Healthcare and many others.
He attended both St. Cloud State as well as the University of Minnesota and received an honorable discharge as a non-commissioned officer from the United States Marine Corp in 1987.
Always the advocate for community and industry involvement at the local and national level, Mr. Barthelemy is a board member of the American Telemedicine Association and the 2011 Chair of the ATA Industry Council. He also serves as the Provisional Director of the Visual Communications Information Group, an industry think tank. He is the winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year®2011 award for the Desert Mountain Region for Technology. He also serves as a board member of GAZel, an organization committed to encourage the adoption of eLearning, and actively participates in the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Leadership Circle.
Joel resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and their three children.

Michael Harris, Development Director
Michael D. Harris is the Director of Development for GlobalMed Group, LLC, and has been a designer, developer and marketer of technology products for over 25 years.
Michael was also a founder of several companies including, iREZ Research, Corp., which designed and marketed patented mobile video products and Harris Laboratories, Inc., which designed and marketed memory and processor accelerators. He also held key leadership positions with VideoLabs, Inc.(VLAB), including Director of Digital Technologies and Marketing during its Initial Public Offering.
Michael completed the Electronics program at North Central Technical Institute in 1977. From 1977 – 1981, he studied Music and Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin and Computer Sciences at the University of Minnesota- Minneapolis in 1986. Michael did post-graduate work in 1988, while attending and working at the Katholieke Hogeschool Brugge-Oostende in Brugge Belgium, in Industrial Engineering Sciences. During his time off, Michael is a Scout leader and has been an avid martial-artist for the past 33 years.

Dr. Richard L. Nevins, M.D., FAAFP – Chief Medical Director
Dr. Nevins is a strategist and consultant to both the care delivery and business side of healthcare. During his 35 year medical career, he has designed and developed telemedicine and Internet healthcare systems; designed and developed evidence-based clinical care delivery systems for acute and chronic care management; integrated benefits design formulary configuration and analyzed patterns of care to improve clinical, financial, functional and productivity outcomes from healthcare for employers and employees; developed and maintained compliance with U.S. healthcare law, policy and best practice care delivery standards; and created care delivery systems that enhance relationships between providers and patients.
Internationally, Dr. Nevins has experience improving healthcare in several nations. He was responsible for clinical knowledge bases and co-responsible for software design of clinical care decision applications while serving as Medical Director for National Health Enhancement Systems and as a Vice-President of Medical Affairs for HBO & Company. As a member of committees of the Pan American Health Organization, World Health Organization, The InterAmerican Development Bank and URAC, he has helped design, implement and enhance solutions in the United States and other countries.
Dr. Nevins and his wife have funded medical clinics in Central America and Nepal and have coordinated and led healthcare teams to Central America where he has personally treated more than 10,000 indigent and rural patients. He has served as a member of the Board of Governors and as a member of the Board of Directors of Medical Assistance Programs International, a non-profit, Christian foundation that provides healthcare resources, education, essential medications and crisis relief globally.
Dr. Nevins received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. Following post-graduate training in emergency medicine, he practiced emergency and family medicine for more than 25 years. He has been a diplomate of the American Board of Family Physicians and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He was a Clinical Instructor in Emergency Medicine and Family Practice for the University of Kansas School of Medicine. In 1988, he was the recipient of the first “Heartiest Five” award from the American Heart Association for excellence in teaching and practicing the principles of cardiovascular risk factor reduction in Kansas.

Brad Schmidt, Director of Operations
Brad is focused on managing day to day operations for the company, and began his career with GlobalMed in 2002. He also has served as the Western Regional Sales Vice President for ZipRealty, a top 5 national real estate brokerage firm. Prior to joining the Company, Brad held senior financial and operational positions in the real estate, manufacturing and internet/high tech industries.
A CPA, Brad spent his early professional career as an audit manager with Arthur Andersen in their Los Angeles and Phoenix offices. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Arizona, where he gained extensive public accounting and financing experience in healthcare, real estate, and distribution-based enterprises.

Brad resides in Phoenix, Arizona with his lovely wife and two children.

Ben Lentz, Director of Sales
Ben provides leadership in the day-to-day operations of the sales department while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals. He is a dedicated leader driven to increase GlobalMed’s market penetration. Ben’s emphasis on improving the customer experience has set GlobalMed apart in the telemedicine marketplace.

Ben brings to our team more than 15 years of leadership and sales experience. He understands the rigors and demands of a manufacturing company. As a project manager for Calvis Wyant Luxury Homes, Ben was instrumental in the development of results-driven, customer-centric, processes that led to numerous awards and industry recognition for the firm. Prior to his role at Calvis Wyant, Ben was the Sales and Operations Manager for Universal Metal Industries, Inc., where he led both the sales and production teams.
Prior to his new role as Director of Sales, Ben was responsible for the development of GlobalMed’s reseller channel and partnership programs.

Manoel Coelho, Director of International Business
Manoel Coelho is a well-respected business development professional who has demonstrated the ability to implement solutions that enhance an organization’s productivity and profit levels.
Working, living and traveling in more than 30 countries and establishing business relationships across the globe, have provided Manoel with a multi-cultural experience that enables him to showcase value propositions, influence leadership, and direct business strategy in the global arena. He is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.
As Director of Commercial Maritime at MedAire, Inc., Manoel acquired leadership buy-in, developed strategic partnerships and championed the successful expansion of that company’s line of business into international markets. His skills as a diplomatic relationship manager and cross-cultural negotiator allow him to bridge cultural barriers and build international partnerships. While an Account Manager for Medical Advisory Systems, Inc., he helped spearhead the operational transition of that company’s merger with MedAire, all while doubling sales and retaining more than 95% of his customers.
Manoel completed his MBA at the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona, after receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.

Jay Culver, Director of Strategic Accounts
Jay works with GlobalMed’s strategic and channel partners in developing strategies, tools and methodologies to strengthen alliances, develop and maintain partnerships and establish new partner connections for the organization. He works hand-in-hand with partner companies to develop strategies that promote and market GlobalMed products and services.
Jay has extensive sales and marketing experience in the health care products industry ranging from pharmaceuticals to hospital integration systems to large scale telemedicine deployments. In his previous role at GlobalMed as Director of Sales, the company experienced triple-digit growth. His experience also includes positions with Stryker Communications, and large pharmaceutical firms such as Merck & Co, Inc and Sanofi-Aventis. In these positions, he designed, integrated, and connected telemedicine networks, telemedicine clinics, and integrated operating suites across hospital campuses.
Jay is native of Denver, Colorado and married father of two. He graduated with honors from Biola University in California as a student-athlete, where he was a member of the University’s Varsity Soccer Team. He and his family currently reside in Scottsdale, Arizona and enjoy a variety of sports and hobbies ranging from snowboarding to scuba diving.

Bruce J. Adams, Director of Production
Bruce has over 18 years of experience in operations. Prior to GlobalMed, he had his own service company for seven years, where the culture was customers always came first, communicate and keep it simple. From 1989 to 2002, Bruce held positions of Operations Manager, General Manager, and Vice President in areas of aerosol paint, plastics recycling, and specialty food manufacturing, all of which were global and multimillion dollar companies. He has eight years’ experience managing the intellectual property of an international company which had over 100 patents in the U.S., and all over the world.
Today, Bruce is directing the production of GlobalMed with three principals in mind - simplicity, collaboration and accountability. He is motivated to “do more with less” and find better ways to operate through systems. He believes that sticking to these principles and focusing resources will make GlobalMed a stronger, more profitable company.
Bruce earned his bachelors of science degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.

Christopher L. Turner, Director of Finance
Chris is responsible for the overall management of GlobalMed’s financial operations as well as conducting resource planning for the company’s future needs. He originally joined the Company as its Manager of Finance and Accounting in December 2010 and was promoted to Director of Finance in November 2011.
Chris has extensive accounting and finance experience for both public and private companies in the high tech, pharmaceuticals, and petroleum industries. He spent many years in the real estate industry in a variety of operations and finance roles, ultimately serving as the CFO and Director of Operations of a privately held home building and land development/investment firm.
His breadth of experience includes raising funds, developing investor and banking relationships, and administering finance and accounting functions at the corporate level. Chris has brought that focus to GlobalMed and is passionate about assisting the Company in achieving its mission to transform the delivery of healthcare by achieving operational excellence across the organization.
Chris graduated with honors from Arizona State University with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and is a member of the AICPA and ASCPA. He resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife and three children.
