API - Video Consultations

Video Consultations is a video layer API that will enable video functionality within your platform, bolstering your existing tech with a secure telehealth video solution – all without having to add another application.

The API functionality includes:

  • Multi-user environment – enables multiple participants to join a single encounter
  • Device Configuration (e.g., video / audio)
  • Chat Capability
  • Ability to invite additional participants to join a call

Operationally lean, this service-oriented approach eliminates the cost of a monolithic implementation and drastically reduces the need for staff training.

API - Scheduling

Scheduling is a simple API that enables developers to construct links used to launch a virtual patient encounter from a preferred scheduling platform.

Using your existing workflows, you will schedule a virtual care appointment within the parent system. As a result, your application will receive the information it needs to construct a link for the virtual visit. The link will enable the following activities:

  • Schedule Appointments
  • View Upcoming and Past Appointments
  • Check Availability
  • Define Default Appointment Settings
  • Create Shareable Conference Links
  • Appointment Change Management
    – Reschedule
    – Cancel
    – Propose New Time

Developers will be provided with clear API documentation to implement the Scheduling API within your preferred application.

API – Dynamic Integration Management Services (DIMS)

Integrating healthcare information systems is time-consuming, expensive, and difficult. With ongoing maintenance, support, and costly configuration and code changes, integration becomes a burden. And furthering your interoperability goals seems impossible. What if integration happened automatically between your systems when a change is made to the patient record? What if you knew the data in your virtual visit platform was always up-to-date with your EHR?

The DIMS microservice is an automated configuration management tool that maintains compatibility between an EHR and other integrated systems. Upon detection of a change to an EHRs ability to exchange data via FHIR, DIMS will auto-sync connected systems to account for this change, without requiring manual intervention or code changes. By limiting the need for costly configuration or development changes to connected systems, you can expect your virtual health platform to always be in sync with the preferred health record.

API - eNcounter® Scheduling

eNcounter® Scheduling is a simple API that works exclusively with the eNcounter telehealth platform  and enables developers to construct links used to launch a virtual patient encounter within the eNcounter software from a preferred scheduling platform.

Using your existing workflows, you will schedule a virtual care appointment within the parent system. As a result, your application will receive the information it needs to construct a link for the virtual visit. The link will enable the following activities:

  • Direct the user to the eNcounter software where the link will launch the virtual appointment and connect them with the invited attendees
  • Present the Patient Summary for a patient in attendance

The link is only good for a one-time consultation. A new link is requested each time a new virtual appointment is scheduled.

Developers will be provided with clear API documentation to implement eNcounter® Scheduling API within your preferred application.

How do telemedicine microservices and APIs work?

GlobalMed’s APIs and microservices can be embedded into your app, website or business platform using any programming language of your choice. In some cases, it is as simple as sending a request to the API to be able to leverage the capability. Information is returned to the user allowing it to be easily integrated into any system.  The standard interface should allow your developers to quickly integrate the capability into your continuum of care workflow.
