Annual City of Phoenix Award Recognizes Excellence in Export Success
SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. – Oct. 9, 2019—GlobalMed, an international provider of virtual health solutions, was named Mayor’s Exporter of the Year 2019 by Phoenix Sister Cities. The award is given annually to a mid-sized Phoenix company that exemplifies inspiring activity in global trade and exporting.
GlobalMed founder and CEO Joel E. Barthelemy accepted the award at the 20th Annual Global Links Business Luncheon at the Arizona Biltmore on Thursday, Sept. 26.
“Because every life matters, we are very honored to be recognized for our success in the transformation of healthcare globally through our exporting efforts,” Barthelemy said. “International trade has always been a significant part of our business. Since 2002, we’ve been bringing clinically responsible medicine to every corner of the world. Today our virtual health platforms are in more than 55 nations, including new deployments in Argentina and Zimbabwe just this year.”
The award noted GlobalMed’s innovation in telemedicine exports, including its advanced data-driven devices and virtual care delivery platform eNcounter®, which incorporates biometric and clinical evidence in each virtual consultation. Translation capabilities help clinicians communicate across national and language barriers to ensure patients receive expert care when they need it most.
Neal Schoenbach, GlobalMed vice president of business development, said the company was proud to celebrate ingenuity in exporting with other Phoenix leaders. “Winning this award is especially meaningful, given Phoenix’s rising profile as a hub of healthcare technology,” Schoenbach said. “We like to think it’s a testament that we’re helping to change the healthcare conversation on a global level. As we’ve seen virtual health adoption rise from South America to the Middle East, it’s been exciting to watch so many countries triumph over traditional delivery barriers and bring world-class medicine to their citizens.”
GlobalMed powers the world’s largest, most advanced virtual health programs by designing and manufacturing integrated software and hardware telemedicine solutions that support a patient at any point in the continuum of care.
Providers are enabled with data capturing tools to deliver evidence-based treatment and improve patient outcomes while lowering costs. Providers looking for their own technology to manage capacity, save money, and deliver responsible medicine, will get all they need from one platform. Recognizing the importance of trust and consistency in healthcare, GlobalMed also offers white-label versions of their systems so that providers can self-brand their virtual care offerings to strengthen the patient relationship with their organization.
With over 15 million consults delivered in 60 countries and specializing in both federal and commercial spaces, GlobalMed’s virtual health platform deploys in its highly secure Azure environment and is used worldwide from the Department of Veteran Affairs and White House Medical Unit to rural hospitals and villages in Africa. Founded in 2002 by a Marine Corps Reserve Veteran still serving as CEO, GlobalMed is proud to be a Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB). Learn more at www.globalmed.com.
